Antiques: Always in Style

Final preparations are underway for the 19th Annual Charity Antiques, Jewelry & Art Show which will be held March 23, 24 and 25 at the Waterfowl Festival Building on South Harrison Street in Easton. 

Twenty dealers will have exquisite 18th and 19th century English and American furniture, clocks, porcelains, and accessories for the home on display and available for purchase.  Among the dealers returning from last year’s show are Adair and Halligan, who will bring wonderful antique carpets and fine art; Crawford DePrince with beautiful antique and estate jewelry that is always a show favorite; Gallery at Summerhill with garden antiques and prints; At the Sign of the Sycamore with unusual Victorian silver, crystal and porcelain.  New this year are Blue Diamond (MI) with a wonderful selection of flow blue china, Guilford & Company with estate jewelry and The Old Board with English smalls.    

The weekend begins with the Opening Night Party, Friday, March 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Guests will have the opportunity to stroll among the beautiful room settings, meet the dealers, and be the first to make purchases.  A very nice selection of wines and beers from Hair O’ The Dog and delectable hors d’oeuvres served by Oxford Greens will be available to enjoy throughout the evening.  Reservations are required for Friday night and can be made by calling the MHTC office at 410-822-0444.  The cost is $75, which includes weekend admission to the show.  

The Show is open to the general public on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Admission is $10.00 or $8.00 with a show card available at area shops or with the advertisement from Mid Shore Life. (click here for coupon)

Tickets f or the Talbot County Dine Around raffle can be purchased throughout the weekend.  Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25.  Winners will enjoy dining as some of the area’s finest eateries.  The drawing will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon, and winners to not have to be present.

The Show is the major fundraiser for the Mental Health Association in Talbot County (MHATC).  All proceeds from the event will support the organization’s educational and community awareness programs.  MHATC is especially pleased to have support from community members whose generosity has helped make the show possible.  Hertrich of Easton is the Show Sponsor.  Honorary Chairs are Mr. and Mrs. William Millar and Mr. Bruce Wiltsie.  Opening Night Party Sponsors include CBIZ, Hair O’ The Dog, Service Today, Shore Health System, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Stevenson and Friends of MHATC.  PNC is the program book sponsor.

The Mental Health Association in Talbot County provides support, programs and educational events for the community to promote mental health and inform about mental illness.  Programs such as Mental Health First Aid and Kids on the Block educate a wide audience on general mental health topics.  Support groups provide compassion and understanding to families and individuals in need.  The Distinguished Speakers program brings nationally known experts to speak on timely mental health issues.
